The rainfast window and pass dry times

The decision

A spray pass is only worth it if two windows hold: dry weather long enough to finish the field, and then long enough for the product to become rainfast. Rain inside either window washes product off, wastes a pass, and can mean spraying again. Waiting when the rain never comes costs a day in a season with few of them.

Labels state rainfast times in hours. The question for the operator is therefore precise: will it stay dry here for the next one, two, or three hours?

What Odeai gives the operator

Odeai forecasts rain rate over the field and the area around it in 10-minute steps, three hours ahead, refreshed every 10 minutes.

• The dry window: how long the next dry spell is expected to last at the field.
• The first rain: when rain is expected to start, so a pass can be sized to finish before it.
• Several fields: the same forecast for each block, so the fleet goes where the window is longest.
